Having a free and traffic less road at the hour of the day I go to my work is like bringing the dead to life. Such of those times is this Monday morning. I drove enjoying the coolness of the atmosphere.
I managed to get to work few minutes to resumption time just like every other day at work. Aside the normal morning greetings nobody at the office had time for the normal gist about the weekend, of course the reason is not far fetch, Dr Wilson is around.
Dr Wilson is the owner is Reigners Publishing plc. and he is a man of integrity, he never condoles laziness from any of his staff, he wouldn't hesitate to query such a person.
If a pin could drop it would make a loud noise. Everyone was buried to work even Ernest who has formed the habit of coming to my office first in the morning, I wondered if he was even at the office.
Well it was a Monday morning, to me I wouldn't mind the whole week being like this because this would help me meet up the deadline to submitting an assignment given to me by Dr. Wilson,
i wouldn't want to betray his trust. He has trusted my intelligence ever since the day I met him in his office someday with worries all written on his face. I was about dropping a file on his table when I found out he had his head on his table, I summoned courage to talk 'sir hope all is well' I said very faintly
raising his head 'Tife I will be fine thank you very much'
I dropped the file and was about going out of his office when he called me out again, then he asked 'i think you once told me you are good at writing'
Moving back towards his table 'Yes sir'
I don't know if you can help me out with this article, I need to present it at a seminar tomorrow morning and right now i couldn't put anything together.
I assured him of doing my best,he was surprised the next day as I presented the article to him. He was shocked at the level of my writing skills and my ability to meet up the time.
Ever since then, I have his trust on deadlines.
It was time for lunch and here comes the trouble maker. Tife, remember you owe me lunch and I want it today, right now. Ernest!!! As I raised my voice a bit, don't you ever forget things like just go dumb some times and stop taking every details of words, ahn. He laughed and gave me a look that appears to be 'this one no know wetin she enter o'. See your face like that whatsapp emoji, I said this as I used my hands to cover his face. Just follow me, for food only. Call me anything you like, I wouldn't mind what I'm after is 'just buy me food, shikena' we bursted out in laughter together. It was during lunch Lolu's text came in 'i'm picking you up after work today, be set'. Even though the text was unattended to, it was on my mind.
Few hours later, 10mins before the closing hour, Lolu drove in and gave me a call to notify his presence. Just give me few minutes I will be with you now.
Every moment with him sucks all my worries and troubles. I literally forget them and enjoy seeing his handsomeness. Adelolu, the one with the magical words that hits the heart and melts its stubbornness. You know you're such an amazing person, someone I want to stay in my life forever. But Lolu, I just want you to understand what's going on and I'm sure you know, you're just not taking it easy on me. It's more complicated than you think it is. Put yourself in Dire's shoes, would you survive it? Even the blind and deaf knows how much I want all this drama to end. It was all as if I was soliloquizing, because Lolu didn't became deaf and dumb like he doesn't understand the language I was speaking. He didn't say a word till we drove to my apartment. We set out of the car just to find out my apartment was unlocked. Oh my God, I just hope it's not what I'm thinking. Dire has a spare key to entry and he is fond of coming up with surprises. I thought within myself 'I hope some drama is not about starting' getting to the entrance of my apartment I was shocked and dump founded as Dire step out of the house to give me a welcoming hug, he immediately spotted Lolu and silence filled up the air.
